Dear Secretary of State
Just over a month ago I sent you
a request from your website seeking your advice on a matter. Aat this stage I have not received an acknowledgement or a
response.
For the purposes of convenience, the advice I
am seeking is set out as follows:
As you would be aware that on 1 July 2017
Australia passed into law a requirement for relevant American businesses
(amongst others) to collect tax on behalf of the Australian government on
relevant products sold by American companies - located in America.
Can you please advise me of the
position of the United States government?
• In
allowing enforcement officers of the Australian Taxation Office or other
relevant enforcement officers of the Australian government to enter your
sovereign territory for the purposes of carrying out audit inspections of
records held by these companies in America; And
• if
need be to serve summons upon relevant American companies operating in America
to stand trial in an Australian court for breaches of Australian taxation law;
And
• if
need be two extradite entities so summoned to Australia for the purposes of
facing punitive action.
I look forward to your advice
My Regards
