Major Spending Committment by Government
Ozericar's National Minister for Good Intentions Mr Imino Exagarata announced today the government's intention of spending $37 trillion over the next 3000 year in delivering wonderful services to the community
...read more
The Minister in making the announcement said it demonstrates the current government's commitment to the long-term good of the community.
Although the current budget only contains a commitment for $19.80, the Minister said "this does not reflect upon the priorities of the government in relation to this issue".
When questioned on whether the commitment would actually be delivered the Minister said that nobody knows the future, changes might be necessary as circumstances dictate but the intention to spend $37 trillion surely should be a media catching move and sounds a lot better than the measly budgets of $19.80 which was 0.000000001% of the budget's planned expenditure.

Constitution and Court Reform
Ozericar's Attorney General announced today major reform to the constitution and legal system.
Ms. Braka de Glaszeling said the reform was necessary to utilize the huge advances from science in knowledge and tecknology effecting a highly developed, complex contemporary society.
The changes, to be implemented in 2050 will end a 3000 year monopoly on power by the law profession.
The new High Court of Ozericar will comprise persons drawn from a wide range of discipline including scientists, philosophers, ethicists and private corporations and will have justice not law as it's fundamental base.
Appointments to the court will be by computer algorythms.
Each judge will be rated using the newly NASA developed computer program call "omniscient" and allocated a rating out of 1000 units. This allocation will equate to voting power when deciding matter brought before the court.
The voting power of each judge will remain undisclosed and held only within the program. Each cases will be decided by total rating score.
A judge must be over 65 to be eleigable to hold office and can only serve for a maximum period of 5 years.
The President of the Ozericar Lawyers Club, Mr. Privilege, said, initially their members intend to sue the government for compensation as a result of loss of power and earnings but realised that by the time the action arrived at the High Court their crowd would no longer be in total control.
Mr. Privilege warned that the reform would only result in chaos and disaster everywhere and lead to increased global warming with an acceleration in hot air levels into the atmosphere.
Mr. Privilege suggested that the proposal should be sent off to an all party's committee where hopefully they could successfully starve it to death over the next 25 years in which time rising levels of Alzheimer's disease will ensure that everyone has forgotten the issue.
An Ozericar businessman Richard Hardworka is widely rumored to be on the early list of possible selections to the High Court

Prezzieland Introduces New Equitable Tax System
Prezzieland's Premier today announce new equitable system when raising taxes using motor vehicle registration.
In a commitment to the Prezzieland Constitution which requires equity and justice in relation to taxes and fees levied on constituents, the Premier of Prezzieland announced that from 1 July 2017 motor vehicle registration will be based upon kilometres travelled for an individual vehicle - not a single standard fee for a vehicle classes.
Motorists can elect to have the new Navgate system installed in their vehicles which records and transmits to the Department the monthly kilometres travelled for that vehicle.
The motorist is then charged a fee per kilometre which is then debited against the relevant credit card.
Navgate is state-of-the-art technology The Minister for Travel Ms Ima Sobright said the system is so clever that any attempt to tampering with it will result in a close down of the vehicle's operation.
"A little dangerous I hear you say" said Minister "but has the same 'bad outcome' risk rating as the radiation from a cat scam"
Ms Sobright, went on to say that the tax on registration paid by an individual, would, for the first time in history, be raised directly relative to the load that was placed on the system and the network by an individual user.
Ms Sobright said that thanks to technology for the first time, equity and justice can be applied to at least some of our tax raising.
Motorist can decline to have the Navgate system fitted to their vehicles in which case they would continue to pay the standard 6 or 12 month fee for their vehicle class irrespective of the use that vehicle made of the network.

New Age for Science.
President Elgrandee announced sweeping reform to the acceptance of scientific findings
...read more
The country of Bril'lunteecar announced today sweeping changes to the way scientific research will be assessed within that nation.
President Elgrandee said "...for too long science has been degraded by self-interest".
From 1 July this year any research undertaken in Bril'lunteecar will need to be done through the Centre for Scientific Advancement (CSA) which is a wholly science managed facility run by the International Society for the Advancement of Science (ISAS).
Sweeping changes to legislation will require companies developing new products to fund all scientific research in relation to these new products but the funds will be paid directly to ISAS who will be responsible to undertake the research and development, providing reports to the company and a copy to the new, Ministry of Scientific Oversight (MSO).
The sole role of private sector with science will be in the marketing of its products.
Elgrandee said that the sweeping changes will go a long way in removing a significant bias that has found its way into the practice of science, thereby providing the community with higher quality information and better outcomes for the future.
The director of ISAS said she was excited by the development. For the first time in the history of science scientists will be able to pursue facts and the truth without the dissuasion of self-interest self-promotion or significant external influences.

'One' is not one to many.
The High Court of Ozericar finds in favour of acceptable risk. Discission dismantles the "one is one to many" mantra of promont politicians seek to carry favour with the electorate
...read more
Ozericar's High Court redirected the trajectory of the future when it handed down today, a historic decision ruling that the acceptance of reasonable risk constitutes sound and effective decision-making.
In a case, the first of its kind ever brought before the court, the court was asked to determine whether a law could be made which was contrary to scientific fact.
The court in ruling that the operation of law within a community must sit within the envelope of science dismissed in one decision, 1000's of years of dominance of the law over fact.
The court was asked to determine whether or not a responsible decision would be one in which there is not 100% of certainty.
For decades now, politicians had adopted and promoted the position that 'one' bad outcome from 'any thing' was one to many and was being used as propaganda to incite the comunity not to accepted any risk at all.
The case was brought by Ima Needyahdrug, who sued the drugs manufacturer, Multidose PL, because of side-effects she incurred from using a drug to treat her seriously defective liver cuased by excessive alholol abuse .
Multidose PL in their submission showed evidence that 98.12% of the 3.4 million users of the drug were free of the catastrophe side-effect.
Five Nobel prize-winning scientists from a range of disciplines gave evidence that absolute guarantees as to the outcome of any event cannot be supported by the laws governing the operation of the universe.
The Supreme Parliament of Ozericar had brought the law into operation two years ago. Titled the 'Perfection Act 2020', it provided by law that everything in life should be perfect and that if life was not perfect then an individual had a right for an action and claim for compensation under the Act by taking action against any party that could be identified that played a part in producing an outcome threatening their right to a perfect result, every time.
President Olaysheet said he was disappointed that the court had taken away one of politician's trump cards to dupe the community and was giving serious thought to leaving politics and going to work for the banking industry.
